I have sony vaio model PCG-71314L

Recently the fan started to make a loud noise and so I took it apart thinking something got inside it. Now it stopped rattling but it randomly shuts down. Any advice?

It sound like the cooling fan bearings have gone and the cooler needs replacing.

The reason that the computer does not feel hot is most likely due to the MB having a thermal sensor which is detecting the CPU getting hot and shutting the system down to prevent the processor from frying.

The fan is the only piece of hardware that needs to be replaced.

Do you have a link to the replacement fan please.
