I just built my sys, and my buddy want to build one too. Based on my advice, that's what he picked out. Any advice will be appreciated!

Processor: AMD FX-8350 Processor 4.0GHz w/ 16MB Cache (The figs hooked him)
Cooling: Zalman CNPS9900 MAX CPU Cooler w/ Red LED (He thought this is a cool looking fan. lol)
Motherboard: Asus M5A97 R2.0 w/ Dual DDR3 2133, 7.1 Audio, Gigabit Lan, USB 3.0, CrossFireX
RAM: Patriot Gamer 2 Series DDR3 8GB PC3-12800 Enhanced Latency DIMM
HDD1: Intel SSD 330 Series SATA III Solid State Drive Kit, 120GB
HDD2: Seagate 1TB Barracuda SATA III w/ 64MB Cache
Graphic card: Asus GTX660 Ti DirectCU II Geforce GTX 660 Ti 2GB PCI-E w/ Dual DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort
PSU: Corsair Enthusiast Series TX650M Modular Power Supply

PS: some items are on special in my region, total cost just under $1,000

I would input the system into PCPartPicker.com and let it see if it can find better prices for you. Might save you some money and avoid some tax, especially if you can buy the parts online.
