Hi everyone,
I apologise if I have repeated a post topic, but I kinda guessed it wouldn't be exactly the same. The images below should give you all the tech info you need, otherwise let me know how to get it and I will provide you with more techie info.

I have an acer aspire 5920.

I had recently received my laptop back after sending it for a general check-up, if you like, and all was ok. I had previously used PC Tools Antivirus (before I sent it off for the 'check-up'), but after I got my laptop back it had AVG 2013 on it, with no firewall. (My brother is a little computer savvy, but doesnt know how to help me here) He told me to download the Comodo firewall (stand alone) and I accidentally installed the entire freeware range including the browser. So, I uninstalled a few things:

- a bunch of games that came preloaded on my laptop
- norton antivirus (the 30 day trial version that came preloaded with my laptop)
- and, by accident, one component of the comodo range geek buddy.

I then restarted my computer, and the Blue Screen appeared.

In hindsight i know that series of actions probably was not the smartest thing to do but I cannot do anything about that now which is why I am asking for help. :/

Are you able to boot the machine in normal mode at all?

I would like the logs below from normal or safemode.

Please download MINITOOLBOX and run it.

Checkmark following boxes:


Flush DNS
Reset FF proxy Settings
Reset Ie Proxy Settings
Report IE Proxy Settings
Report FF Proxy Settings
List content of Hosts
List IP configuration
List Winsock Entries
List last 10 Event Viewer log
List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size
List Devices (problems only)


Click Go and post the result.


Upload your minidump files as well.

Download Autoruns and Autorunsc

Unzip it to your desktop and then double click autoruns.exe After the scan is finished then click on File>>>>>>>>>>>Save The default name will be autoruns.arn make sure to save it as Autoruns.txt under the file type option. in other words make sure it is a .txt file instead of .arn Attach the text in your next reply.

I can boot in normal mode, but it lasts a minute or 2 and thats when I get the BSOD.
Therefore everything has been gotten from safe mode.

Hit the start button then type Msconfig.
Then under the start up tab disable/un-tick all items.Hit Apply
Under the Services Tab put a tick next to the box that says Hide all microsoft services.
Un-tick all that remain.Hit Apply and Ok your way out of there.
Then reboot the machine,into normal mode and see below.

Un install the items below.


COMODO Internet Security (Version: 6.0.64131.2674)
Comodo Dragon (Version: 23.1.0.0)
AVG 2013 (Version: 13.0.2637)
AVG 2013 (Version: 13.0.2805)
AVG 2013 (Version: 2013.0.2805)


See if you are now able to boot into normal mode with out issue let me know the outcome.

Thanks VERY much for your help.

I have not seen the BSOD just yet, it seems to be holding. once it did boot up the following bubble popped up on the system tray:

"windows has blocked some startup programs.
windows blocks programs that require permission to run when windows starts. Click to view blocked programs."

Does this need to be changed?
Also, what antivirus freeware would you suggest... being that I had about 4 programs on my laptop at once, I would rather just have one.

Install Avast free.

Reverse these steps.

Hit the start button then type Msconfig.

will this effect the AVG Free 2013 and the Comodo Firewall I downloaded? (While I was waiting for your reply I did some research and that was what I chose...)

Are you saying that you re downloaded AVG and Comodo after we just un-installed them
