pandascan/hijack file [RESOLVED]

Hello hope some kind soul can help me with this as am getting very confused

i already use adwarese
Spybot
Spyguard
AVG virus killer
zone alarm
spyware blaster

upon doing a online panda scan it am informed off two infections

Adware:Adware/SaveNow No disinfected Windows Registry
Adware:Adware/ValueAd No disinfected C:\WINDOWS\system32\F?nts

so have done a hijack log

would really like to eliminate these two things, have looked on google but cant find anything listed in the registry

Launch Notepad, and copy/paste the box below into a new text file. Save it as FindFile.bat and save it on your Desktop.

dir C:\WINDOWS\system32\F?nts /a h > files.txt

Locate FindFile.bat on your Desktop and double-click on it. It will open Notepad with some text in it. Please post the text here.

Hi Dazman,

Still a little work to do,

Rescan with HJT and check the following entries:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =

Ensure no windows open except HJT and click fix checked.

Ensure pc set up to show hidden files and using windows explorer, locate and delete the following file:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\Fonts

Thats the easy part over. The registry entries are different, you will need to reboot your pc into safe mode, by tapping the F8key whilst your pc startsup and select safe mode option.

A number of reg keys for this savenow program may remain in the registery after it's removal, but they are harmless and are just left overs. Useless with no program to run. So if you want to proceed, It is advised that you make a backup and to be very careful that you follow instructions exactly.

Click Start > Run.
Type regedit

Then click OK.

Navigate to and delete the subkeys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WhenUSave
HKCR\WUSN.1
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\SaveNow
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Xtractor Plus_is1
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MenuExt\Free Software

Navigate to the subkeys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

In the right pane, delete the values:

"VVSN" = "%ProgramFiles%\VVSN\VVSN.exe"
"SaveNow" = "%ProgramFiles%\SaveNow\SaveNow.exe"

Exit the Registry Editor.

Reboot your pc, rescan with Panda scan to see if it still detects anything.

Rescan with HJT and post the log back.

not much luck i am afraid

i deleted the two entries in the hijack log. even tried in safe mode but they have reappeared.

Have deleted the fonts folder then ran active scan and only found 1 file this time instead of two

Hi Darren,

Please disable Spysweeper AND Spyware guard

Check Add/remove in Control panel and ensure there is no entry for Savenow or Whenu, if there is remove them.

Download a free 14 day trial of ewido from the link below. Install it and start it up. Follow the prompts to upgrade it, then close it down.

ewido

Reboot into Safe mode ,

Now run Ewido. click on the Scanner button, Select drives if you have more than one and then start.

grab a cup of coffee, sandwiches, book as this may take some time. Once the first problem is detected ensure you tick the box for all (bottom left) and allow it to continue.

At the end of the scan, it may ask if you would like to delete anything found in archive or zipped files, OK that request, then click on save report. SAVE to the default location, it will then generate a text file. Copy that to post in this thread.

rescan with HJT and delete the following two ENTRIES:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =

Ensure no windows open except HJT and click fix checked.

Reboot normally,

Hi Darren,

From your log, I see nothing in the ways of trojans, nor any evil entities attempting to possess your computer, except for Windows but it's too late for that one. :tazz:

Congratulations your log now appears to be clean.

Here are some tips, to reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing the following applications:

Detect and Remove Programs:

How to use Ad-Aware to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Ad-Aware.
How to use Spybot to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Spybot. Similar to Ad-Aware, I strongly recommend both to catch most spyware.

Prevention Programs:

Spywareblaster <= SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed.
Spywareguard <= SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
IE/Spyad <= IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (Cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
MVPS Hosts file <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your coputer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer
Google Toolbar <= Get the free google toolbar to help stop pop up windows.

Other necessary Programs:

AntiVirus Program<= An AntiVirus program is a must! Whether it is a free version like AVG or Anti-Vir, or a shareware version like Norton or Kapersky, this is a must have.
Firewall<= A firewall is definatley a must have. Two good free versions are Sygate and ZoneLabs.
More Secure Browser<= Internet Explorer is not the most secure and best browser. There are safer and better alternatives available. I recommend Firefox, however Opera and SlimBrowsers are good as well.

many thanks for your help

Unfortunatley i have been having trouble with my pc taking longer to run and exit programs, have done the usual things like defrag and run spybot, adaware etc but they come up clean.

I did have some trouble uninstalling the yahoo messenger bar via add/remove programs, the only way i could get shot of it was to use another add/remove program and seems to have gone now

can you check this new hijack log for me?
