hi guys,

i have a samsung 1t harddrive, it suddenly started showing me that it is a raw and that i must format it. Obiviously i do not want to lose my data. i have tried recovering programs but all of them have some or other limitations. what can i do to correct my harddrive so that i can use it once more...?

I will genuinly be thankful for your help. Please help!

I'll put good money on this drive being down the pipe, faulty in other words.

However have you tried creating a partition on the drive and then formatting it and then running the recovery software on the drive?

what is "creating a partition on the drive"? i can format it, but i do not have recovery software that will allow me to recover all my data, i have only seen a few, but they only let you recover a 2-3gb..

You can only format an active partition, you said it was Raw, in other words no partition/s whatsoever.

i am going to try to format it and then recover the files, the program/link taht you gave me could not axcess the harddrive

Have you tried to do what I suggested in Post 4 and that was right clicking on the drive and clicking Create Partition?

no i have not, there is no Create Partition when i right click on the drive..????

Then I would suggest the drive is history, you could however try professional recovery on the drive but this is seriously expensive.
