have put a ssd drive in for boot up how doyou set the computer to send programs and bown loads to another disk drive as i am only new at this

If you are saying that you have fitted a new hard drive (the SSD) and installed Windows and then after that added another hard drive then simply right click on a given file on your main PC and a box will open in which you click "Send To".

If the other drive is named F: as an example then click Send To F: as shown in this scenario.
