I've had the virus for more than a week now, what it does is when I double click on an application it seems to respond to the clicks, but then it just stops and doesn't open at all. I'm unable to open the Internet, pictures, videos etc. I've tried to run system restore the same problem occurs. sometimes the application would open after I restored system but the same problem would just occur after, where loading stops and nothing opens. the only things I can open are folders and I'm able to see whats in the folders but cant open it. when I run my computer in safe mode I am able to access all these applications but when I try to install anti virus it did not work. please help me figure out what the problem is and how to fix the problem. thanks a lot.

Hi I will need to see what is on the system first (run this from safe mode if need be )

Download OTL to your Desktop
Secondary link
  • Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.

  • Select All Users
  • Under the Custom Scan box paste this in

    netsvcs
    BASESERVICES
    %SYSTEMDRIVE%\*.exe
    /md5start
    services.*
    explorer.exe
    winlogon.exe
    Userinit.exe
    svchost.exe
    winsock.*
    /md5stop
    CREATERESTOREPOINT

  • Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
  • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
  • Post both logs
