Hello,

I am unable to boot up this PC in safe mode because I get the "blue screen of death".
Error code:
0x0000007B (0xF789E524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

I am wondering if this is being caused by malware. I scanned my PC last night with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and found nothing; however, my microsoft security essentials is telling me that it is being attacked regularly:

http://img811.images...86/75888670.png

I'm not sure if these problem are linked and not sure what actions to take at this point to solve these issues. I would appreciate help/advice/opinions. Thank you for your time.

Hi there I will clear your java cache first and then do a quick scan to see what else is present

Warning This fix is only relevant for this system and no other, using on another computer may cause problems

Be advised that when the fix commences it will shut down all running processes and you may lose the desktop and icons, they will return on reboot

Run OTL
  • Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following

Well, I noticed that microsoft security essentials kept quarantining the trojans. They kept periodically attacking me. I was wondering if they were replicating after being quarantined. So, I clicked remove them.

I guess my malwarebytes was not picking anything up because security essentials had already caught the trojans.

The blue screen is still there.
Error code:
0x0000007B (0xF789E524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
It only happens when I try to starty in safe mode.

I've read that this can be caused by many different things. I'm thinking it might be a driver issue because I had to install new drivers on this PC when I got it. Maybe I didn't do it right. I'm not sure if that causes the problem or not, but I don't think that is your department.

Thanks a lot for your help and looking at my stuff. I really appreciate it very much!

Hello,

I followed the instructions and I am mostly happy with the results. I now no longer get the blue screen of death when I start up in safe mode. That is really nice.

One thing that happened to me is that now my volume control is not working though. I have a multimedia USB keyboard with +/- sound keys at the top I was using to adjust my sound. A green little bar would come up and show visualization of the adjustment. Since this last start up though, it is not working.

Luckily, I had the link saved.

I had the program on the PC, but it was not working (as explained above). So then I tried to reinstall it from the link above, and it told me a newer version was already on my PC. So then I uninstalled the one that was currently on my PC and wasn't working. Then I reinstalled it from the link (fresh install). Then I tried to tinker with the settings and still got nothing.

This program was really easy to use and I believe it set up everything automatically for me without me even having to configure it. My multimedia keyboard is pretty standard. I'm wondering what the deal is  I haven't deleted the last file you sent me yet, maybe it is blocking it or something. I have no idea. I'm totally ignorant on this, lol. Do you have any ideas?

By the way, thanks so much for your help so far. You've been helping me all day. People on this site always treat me good. I can't say how much I appreciate it.

Could you uninstall the programme that you installed
Reboot the computer and let windows install the generic driver
Let me know if that solves it

This is what I tried:
I removed the thing under keyboards in the device manager. It said IntelliType pro there. That is the name of the stuff I downloaded:

Then I removed it from add remove/programs. Then I restarted windows. Then it said:

I guess that is the windows generic keyboard driver? I'm not sure about all of my terminology. So I then tried to reinstall the software/driver from here. I reinstalled it and...got nothing still. I'm just kind of confused about all of this. I understand this may not be your area so it is okay if you don't know either.

OK the initial idea was to see if the generic driver worked on your system.. I have a multimedia keyboard as well and I use the generic driver. The MS intellipoint is only designed to work with their keyboard

only designed to work with their keyboard...as in a microsoft keyboard?

If that is what you mean, then it should work. Here is mine:

It's a microsoft 600 wired keyboard. USB plug in.

I'm wondering if the program put something back to default settings and it needs to be updated for this to work. I'm not sure.

This is what it looks like now, after I try to reinstall the driver/software.

One of the things my boyfriend noticed is that I used to have a speaker in the bottom right of my window. I don't have that anymore. I tried to put it back down there and it gives me this:

It seems like these problems are linked?

I think it has something to do with an audio driver.

What sound card do you have on your computer ?

Device manager will tell you the type
