I am as I said previous having health( a headache for the past year! )issues and frustrated with that so it takes little at times for me to get angry

I am sorry to hear that. We shall just take things step by step. :)

Try this

You have Win 7 I am thinking you need to right click and run as Administrator.

See if that makes a difference. Let me know.

Another thought.

A shortcut like this can only be installed on the desktop. Perhaps when you downloaded the tool you it went to your download folder. If that is the case please move it to your desktop. You can do this by opening the download folder right clicking on the program > cut and then return to your desktop and paste. Once there double click to open and run.

Come back and tell me if that is not the problem or doesn't work. In any event tell me how you got on.

Unfortunately I have to step out now for an hour or two. I will check in when I get back. :)

I tried it and unfortunately it did not work. I am willing to try anything because I am willing to try just about anything. I was going to get rid of the windows and go open source because I was having such issues with it. But I am having problems with that as well. I have the knowledge, it is just right now it is harder then it normally would be for me.. Anyway. I received the same message. I apologize for the problems...I will be out for a bit myself.

Okay, here is another way to fix Windows Installer manually.

Care this has to be done accurately to work.

Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories and right click on Command Prompt and run as Administrator

Type in:

reg delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SQMClient\Windows\DisabledSessions /va /f

Note the gaps... they should be there.

Hit Enter

Click close after fixing MSI installer.

After that come back and tell me how you got on.

It's not this one by any chance?

Seems to be someones photo sharing pic.

http://www.flickr.co...oto/4770401854/

In any event I am wondering whether its worth trying a Start up Repair.

Do you have your Windows Installation Disk for that computer? If you do, follow the directions below to carry out a Startup Repair. If you don't, come back and tell me. :)

Go to Win 7 Startup Repair for instructions on how to carry out a Startup Repair. Follow the instructions under the heading Here's How.

Hello darlinbassmaster,

Hopefully you can do this:

If you do not have a retail Windows 7 installation disk carry out the next instructions.

Create a Windows 7 System Repair Disc

Note: the below can only be done if your machine has a a type of CD/R or DVD/R optical drive installed. Also depending on the exact type of OEM your machine has you may be unable to actually create a SRD.

  • Click on Start(Windows 7 Orb) >> Run...(or the Windows key and R together) to bring up the Run box, then copy/paste the following command into the box and click on OK:

    recdisc.exe

  • Allow the UAC(User Account Control) prompt via selecting Yes.
  • You should now see a menu like the below:-
Posted Image

  • Put a blank rewritable CD/DVD in your optical(CD/DVD) drive and then click on Create disc.
  • Note: If a AutoPlay window pops up, just close it.
  • When the SRD has been created you will see the below:-
Posted Image

  • Now click on Close >> OK. Leave the disc in the drive as we will be using it shortly.
  • You now have a Windows 7 System Repair Disc.
Step 2

Go to the link below and follow the instructions to carry out a Start Up Repair of your machine.

http://www.sevenforu...tup-repair.html

Come back and tell me how you got on.

Hello darlinbassmaster,

Please run the MGA Diagnostic Tool and post back the report it produces:
  • Download MGADiag to your desktop.
  • Double-click on MGADiag.exe to launch the program
  • Click "Continue"
  • Ensure that the "Windows" tab is selected (it should be by default).
  • Click the "Copy" button to copy the MGA Diagnostic Report to the Windows clipboard.
  • Paste the MGA Diagnostic Report back here in your next reply.

Hello darlinbassmaster,

That looks in order to me.

as there was a feature they could not repair.

I guess the best option left is to carry out a factory restore. This should return your computer to the condition it was in when you purchased it but you need to think carefully before proceeding as you will lose all your data. Back up is essential.

How to carry out a factory restore ACER Aspire.

1 Backup all of your important data. Restoring your computer will erase all saved information. Move/copy all of your important files onto an external hard drive or some such or burn it to a disc.
2 Reboot your machine.
3 Press "ALT" + "F10" as the machine boots up.
4 Once eRecovery has loaded, click “Restore to Factory Default Settings”
5 Click “OK” to continue.

From here, the eRecovery process will update all the data on the C: drive and restore a fully functional factory image (approximately 10 minutes)

6. Once eRecovery has run, press “OK” to reboot unit.***This will erase all your unsaved data!***
