Ah in that case there will be no drivers apart from the basic MS one

Could you go to control panel > device manager then let me know if any items have a yellow exclamation mark.. A screenshot may help

Hi, sorry had to go away sunday night for work and will be back weekend so am a bit stuck until then. Unless i can get my son to have a look tomorrow. thanks

Thanks, no yellow exclamation marks. If you plug headphones in and try and play itunes for example no sound.

Go to device manager
Right click your sound device and select uninstall
Once done reboot and allow windows to reinstall the driver

Did that work

Is it just the headphones that do not work ?

When you open control panel do you have an icon for the soundcard... Here mine is realtek

No not sure its there. No sound at all but it used to work fine.

I attached an image of the control panel but how do you paste it in directly as you did. I copied but it would not paste?
