Not sure quite how to explain but here goes.

I believe problems started when rogue search engines appeared on my computer causing sporadic close down of IE and much other software.

I am now experiencing a worrying network problem, originally this started by occasional none connection to the internet, at that time by entering the network and sharing centre I found that there in fact was a connection showing traffic but not using/showing in the icon on the task bar, early days I just disabled this connection then used the diagnose and repair which found the LAC adapter disabled, on using the repair as administrator from the
trouble shooter the adapter was enabled and all was well.

Now however on every start up restart the above problem occurs. help with these problems would be appreciated.

Another maybe connected occurrence is the inability to get into safe mode using the accepted method at start up.

regards Tom
