Hello,

I am running Windows VISTA Home 32b, and AVAST! (paid version).

So far I have removed 9 infected files, some trojans, that AVAST! obviously allowed access.

The infected files included,
java-agent-OG (EXPL)
java-agent-BJ
win32PUP-genpup.

I found them by running boot-time scans. And, when I went to do an uninstall of GOOGLE CHROME.

I'm really worried as I'm paying AVAST! to keep the pc clean & free of this stuff, and it obviously failed big time.

Can some one please advise as to which malware protection is more reliable as I want to get rid of AVAST!

Please note that as far as computers go I am self-taught, my knowledge very limited. I need malware protection that works and is user-friendly.

Thank you for any help you can offer in this situation.
