Hi all

Needing some help on my samsung laptop, it starts up with a blue screen 'a problem has occured" then ends with a message about collecting data to dump"
it then loads past that to windows error recovery. with a couple of options of starting the repair. nothing seems to fix it tho. I have tried a few different ways but no luck.

Hope someone can help
cheers
Wayne

EDIT: Managed to run a frst scan if that helps

You are using the wrong version of FRST. Try the 64bit version, FRST64.

I still don't know why the System hive is not being loaded.

Are you running FRST64 from the Recovery Environment Command Prompt? -or- Throughout a bootable CD? If throughout a bootable CD, what kind of CD? Do you have access to a working computer using Windows 7 64bit?
