Used my FlexDrive to save files from my pc. Just bought a Windows 8 PC. As I was starting it up for the first time, I plugged in my FlexDrive. PC asked if I wanted to use the drive as recovery. I clicked yes in my stupidity. Now my 1.5 TB FlexDrive only lists as RECOVERY (D:/) and 30 GB. How do I get it back to 1.5 TB with all my files and folders? I used EaseUS data recovery and it found all my files, so I know its all still there. PLEASE HELP!!!

My PC is a Gateway Desktop. The external hard drive where I'm having the issue is a Seagate GoFlex FreeAgent Desk External Hard Drive

Yes I realise the drive that you are having a problem with but what I am trying to ascertain is where you currently put Backups via Backup and Recovery at the moment?

I backed up my personal folders onto the external because I was in need of a new PC. I never tried creating a backup/recovery discs for my PCs. My intention was to plug the external to the new PC and upload my folders to it. I'm sorry if I sound ignorant, but in this area, yep...I'm there.

Ok can you show us a screen shot of what the drives situation is, in Disk Management please mate.

Ok Disk 1 is the external drive with the Recovery quite clearly showing.

What you need to do is create a partition in the Unallocated space to the right and format it in NTFS which will then give you the remainder of your drive back.

In Disk Management right click on the unallocated space and click Create Partition at which point the partition wizard should pop up and you then follow the instructions from there..

Make sure the partition is the size that it is now by making note of the GB's

I do apologise, click on New Simple Volume in the first shot.

Did it. It created a NEW VOLUME, it assigned another DRIVE LETTER and there are no files. When I click on it, in the explorer window it says "this folder is empty"

Yes well obviously there are no files as the newly made partition is empty.

I am not aux fait with Windows 8 just yet but it may be one of its foibles to create a Backup and Recovery aspect which is the D: drive.
