The hard drive is dead Hyacynth.

It may indeed show in the bios but this could be because it is physically connected only.

The boot option is searching for the hard drive or any boot files for that matter and finds only the Network boot which obviously you don't have.

Replace the hard drive.

In theory your machine should be able to make toast so my question would be that when you reinstalled Windows 7 it should have installed most of the hardware drivers but have you actually been to Nvidia to see if there are any updates for the GPU?

And asked microsoft to send me a key, turns out they said the key should be under my battery, im not home atm, but ill make sure with them, thanks for responding.

It's a pity that you never made any back to factory recovery disks when the original hard drive was functioning.

You see what you have to bear in mind is that the driver disk that came with the machine is only as good as when it was first made and the drivers for various aspects may have been updated since that time and this is why I suggested going to Nvidia to check for any updated drivers.

A separate issue now, can you please provide a screen shot of Disk Management so that I can ascertain if the back to factory recovery partition is still showing and has not been wiped when you re-installed 7.

Firstly thanks alot, seriously, i had a great experience getting help, secondly the problem is now fixed, i put the key in and it updated within 5 mins and now the problem is solved, once again thnx for helping :)

Edit: before upgrading windows 7 i also made an update to some framework program/whatever it is, windows updated that and some security updatesprior upgrading my windows itself, dont know if that matters or not but im happy the problem is now solved!

The program that you speak of is Microsoft .Net Framework and you should have the latest version which is 4.

Good to hear that all appears to be running smoothly once more.
