I just bought a gateway ne56r31u for my son and he has a hp smart power adapter with a connector that fits and is 90w same as what replacement adapter from gateway is. Will this work as a spare adapter to charge the computer with out causing any damage?

Hi kechamb< Posted Image
Not something I would risk. One device may charge at 12V 300mA and the other at 12V 500mA. May charge OK but may cause damage not apparent at first.
