hers what i have, the program started out fine, it ran 1 of 6, then rebooted and started run 2 of 6. then a box popped up asking if i wanted to allow the program to make changes, i clicked on allow.

then it did run 2 of 6 and after a while the box said waiting for prefetching, then it said timed out, could not wait any longer.

OK that tells me that prefetcher is probably disabled

Go Start > Run
Type in services.msc
Locate SuperFetch
Ensure it is set to Automatic start

We will now set the registry to reflect the data it catches

Download the attached reg file to your desktop

Double click the file and allow to merge

Reboot and then run xbootmgr -trace boot -prepSystem -verboseReadyBoot again

Do you use a cleaner tool to empty the prefetch folder ?

Could you run an elevated command prompt and type in the following.. Should take no more than 10 minutes

sfc /scannow

Then download and install these two Hotfixes

OK that would explain that.. A few boots will be required before it is reasonably populated again

Meanwhile the two hot fixes may help a bit
