Hello,

I have an XP laptop connected to the internet via a USB 3g stick

Configured for shared connection and wired via ethernet cable to an XP desktop.

Was working great until today.....now have limited connectivity on the desktop.

Tried all the network setting and command prompt "fixes" out there.....but can't renew IP address

"ipconfig" says......unable to contact DHCP server

Replaced ethernet adapter card.....same problem.

Please help as I am truly lost.

Removed Avast and SuperAntiSpyware

Uninstalled the first driver on the list.... "AFD"

Upon reboot....the Found New Hardware Wizard is asking to
connect to the Windows Update Site to search for the software.

Now what?....I can't connect to the internet with that computer.
