My wife had the bright idea to delete several programs on our computer that she though may be slowing our computer down. I still have Internet access( I think!) because I still have wifi but when I start up my computer and try to click on any o my Internet short cuts, nothing happens. If I click on IE it will try to load and then give me a box that says it encountered a problem and had to shut down. My system is showing that I don't have any restore options. Any ideas? Please help.

What did she delete?

Try running sfc /scannow from an Elevated Command Prompt, see if that fixes it for you.

Click Start, type command. Right click on Command Prompt at the top and select Run as Administrator.
Type sfc /scannow and press Enter
Let it run to completion.

Reboot and see if the problem is fixed.

If what Z trucker says fails then a log may be needed here if you can get it.
