I am currently working on my dad's computer. It is a brand new laptop. It is an ASUS R500VD. I upgraded it to Windows 7 Professional right after we opened it for his business. It ran fine for a few days and then this blue screen started happening. I cannot figure it out looking through the logs. Any suggestions?

What OS did it come with? According to the ASUS web site, it could come with

Windows 8 X64
Windows 7 X64
Windows 7 X86

Have you done all the Windows Updates available?
Is all okay in Device Manager, no yellow marks?

You could always use the Recovery Partition to take it back to it's Factory new state and start over.

Also, please zip the minidump files and upload and attach here.

It comes with a 64-Bit Windows 7. It has done every update available. There is one yellow mark, but I will have to get that when my dad finishes using it for the night. I will also get you the dumps. There is no recovery partition left after doing the upgrade, which I have never seen with any computer that I have ever worked with.

EDIT: It only happens when the computer goes into sleep mode when we shut it and when we power it up, it BSODs.

So it came with 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium and you upgraded to 64 bit Windows 7 Pro???

Sounds like you did a Clean Install, deleting partitions, creating one new one and formatting during the install process, if the Recovery Partition is gone now. Did you create the Recovery Discs before doing the upgrade?

According to a FAQ I found:

Using the Recovery Partition(on selected models)
1. Press < F9 > during bootup.
2. Press [Enter] to select Windows Setup [EMS Enabled].
3. Select the language you want to recover and click Next.
4. Read the ASUS Preload Wizard messages and click Next.
5. Select a partition option and click Next. Partition options:

Recover Windows to first partition only.
This option deletes only the first partition and allows you to keep other partitions, and to create a new system partition as drive "C".
Recover Windows to entire HD.
This option deletes all partitions from your hard disk drive and creates a new system partition as drive "C".
Recover Windows to entire HD with two partitions.
This option deletes all partitions from your hard drive and creates two new partitions "C" (25%) and "D" (75%).
6. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the recovery process.

I forgot. I have the original HDD with original partitions. I was going to clone it to the SSD my dad bought for it, but Acronis wouldn't because it would do a 750gb HDD to a 256gb SSD. It wouldn't do anything the right way for some reason. I have worked with so many computers and this was the first time I have seen this. I completely forgot I put a SSD in it and did a fresh install. I get confused with all of the comptuers that come in and out of the shop.

From the dump, it looks like you have Avira anti-virus installed. Try uninstalling it then test, see if sleep/resume/power up works. If yes, try a different AV program. I use Microsoft Security Essentials.

An alternative would be to stop using sleep and use hibernate or power the computer off.

Make sure you install the Chipset drivers (and USB if separate driver available).

The computer hasn't done it since that I set it to not sleep on closing the lid. Anything weird about that?

Not really. SOme device drivers have problems with sleep mode and don't handle the low power correctly.

You could try changing the Control Panel / Power Options to not allow USB and Wireless settings to go to low power, then see if sleep works okay.
