hi dudes
ive been offered the chance to purchase my work phone..gt-s 5830 but its locked to orange...they want 50 quid for it which i thought was an ok-ish price as its only been used by me from new...
what i'd like to know is, is it possible to open it to all networks ( specifically o2 ) whithout paying orange vast sums of my hard earned cash for the unlock code..also is it worth rooting the thing to get rid of all the crapware that comes with it..
many thanks again for your advice
regards

hi there
i bought the phone and had to pay orange to unlock it, 20 something quid
but i suppose 70 quid aint a bad price for a galaxy ace..wifey uses it now as i got a htc hd2 for work, and i picked up a hd7 with broken glass for personal use, so thats the next project

once you get used to it, the galaxy ace was quite a good phone, although it runs gingerbread and most of the new stuff is jellybean or ICS...there are still lots of free apps and games available for it

hope this helps
regards
