Can I use Fix It for any program that I am having difficulty uninstalling?

It should have fixed any problem there was with Windows Installer so you should be right but you can download and use it again. :)

If I didn't have a virus on my laptop, what was causing all the problems?

No nothing that I or the scans could see. Just a some conflict going on with your security programs and, I think, a bit of corruption. Seems all fixed now.

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!!!

You are very welcome.

I will keep this topic open a day or two in case any issues arise.

Laptop appears to run very smoothly now. No hanging/crashing or anything strange.

I'll do some surfing tonight and make sure all is well....

If you don't hear back from me, please know your help, patience & kindness was greatly appreciated.

MANY THANKS again and again...... :P
