I reformatted my c drive and reinstalled windows xp.

After doing so, I have no audio.

Looks like I found the solution - go to Sony website and download drivers for soundmax, then make that the default in sound properties.

You may be missing other drivers also.
What type of computer is this? Desktop or laptop?
Home built or Dell, HP, etc?

Please Go to

1: STARTand the click on RUN
2: Type in devmgmt.msc
3: Click Enter
4. Look for any entries with Yellow Exclamation ! marks or Red X's

In your next reply please include those results
