Several months ago bought a ASUS Laptop that came with Windows 7 and a free offer to upgrade to Windows 8. We upgraded and hate Windows 8! Is there anyway that we can dump Windows 8 and to go back to Windows 7?

Didn't they provide you with an installer of the Windows 7 program when you got the laptop?

You should have a software bundle. There should be a serial number in the bundle. All you need is this license key to activate Windows 7. The horror is people throw these bundles away. If you did ASUS keep records. I think they charge support fees to recover the number, I could be wrong. It used to be that way. As long as you have a legal key you can run the software.

 

I switched back to 7 on these 2 Dells. You can get into a lot of Mickey Mouse. Pick up the drivers you will need before hand. I went on Dell and got all the drivers for 7 and most of the drivers for XP. They jerked the drivers for these 3847s so, I did not completely get XP drivers. Next keep your restore points updated. Windows update can be a trial. My DVD suddenly stopped writing to -r disks after the updates. Pick up a good free driver update program from the net. I lived with that problem almost 2 years and doing this has recovered the functionality of the drive. You shouldn't have that problem because the computer was designed to run Windows 7, I hope.

 

The next thing I ran into, because I bad mouth the government on the net I think! I got a Trial copy of 7 and the trial was running out. So I ordered full 2 copies of Windows 7 Ultimate. They were stuck in Tenn. or Kentucky at some FED-X depot. I knew who's game I was playing so I went and purchased 2 copies of Windows 7 Pro from Walmart and got them in 2 days. Got the Ultimate copies 2 days after I got the Pro copies. I'm keeping the extra copies they are unopened. Just telling you in case you do things big brother doesn't like shipping can be affected. Knowing there is a problem is half the battle. If you doubt I can attach and image of the unopened Pro copies, true story!
