Itunes not recognising devices

Hi, for a few weeks I've been trying to add music to Ipod, and Ipad however when I connect the device it does not show in Itunes although it shows my computer. I've been unistalling Itunes and then doing a fresh install evey time howver when I reboot my machine I need to do the same thing each time I wondered if anyone had any ideas how to resolve this?

I would recommend that you checkout this article by Apple that gives detailed step by step instructions and many different things you can try to fix this exact problem.
