I am using microsoft word 10.
I have documents that are legal size.

I need to save them to letter size.

I know how to print them to letter.

But I need to save them to letter.
Any ideas??? I've been looking ALL over the web!!!

I have tried this.
But changing the paper size option does not save the integrity of my document.

Is there a way to force save legal to letter?

Open the doc. Select the whole doc (Ctrl + a). Then do the page size change to letter. Then do a print setup and make sure you have the size set to letter. Then Save the doc. IF that doesn't help then see the last post on http://social.techne...5a-6e80915af42c

Ctrl A still does not keep the integrity of my document. It ends up pushing it onto 2 pages.
I have no problem printing legal onto letter size..
Print: 1 page per sheet: scale to paper size: letter
it prints perfectly!
I just cannot figure out how to SAVE it this way!! =(

Ctrl + A should just select the whole document. If it goes to two pages when you change it to letter then you either need to reduce the margins or use a smaller font or tell it to Shrink to 1 page. Can you attach an example of your doc?

OK.. I guess this didn't work for me again...
I work at a hospital.
The documents I am trying to save to letter size are patient menus.
Patient menus are legal size
I need to put them on our website as letter size.
They have different size fonts, and columns that need to stay put!!..
I have over 150 of these to put on the website so it is a tedious job, hence I dont' want to go thru changing and making smaller every font, margine, etc..

I tried to upload a menu, but I got an error message saying that I am not permitted to upload this kind of file?
Its a word doc?

You can't really expect everything that's designed for a page that's 14 inches long to fit on a page that's 11 inches long. you have to either remove content or change the font size. that's what the scaling does when you print it...it shrinks everything and then puts it on the page in the printer. if you want it to ALWAYS do that, you either have to ALWAYS scale it before you print it, or you have to resize the content by changing the font sizes or removing content so that it fits on the page you're wanting it to print to.

It has nothing to do with printing it..
I can easily print it on a letter size paper.

Just change the extension to .txt (and tell me what it was before you changed it).

Let's recap. You have a bunch of docs which were made to print on legal paper and you don't want to print them you want to put them on a web page. Is that correct? What program are you using to generate the web page? Do you have a link to the page?
