DSL Modem Connection,

I use a DSL internet connection. Starting a couple days ago the Internet light would randomly go out for a few minutes. I got a new modem didn't fix the issue and I also disconnected my router and just used the modem and still had the same problem. My modem is a TP-LINK TD-8616 and my Router is an Asus RT-N56U. I have been trying everything I can think of so any help would be appreciared. Also, the ISP doesnt see any problems on there end with my connection, even when my light is out it tells them I am still fine.
