This is quite queer
I can access internet when the modem is switched on before the system is switched on
If I switch on the modem after windows has loaded, it is unable to access the internet and shows the yellow triangle.
Any solutions, I am grateful
Thankx in Advance :)

How are you managing to access the Net when the main PC is not on?

I take it that "System" means main computer.

Or is this other device a laptop for example?

Are we talking about a Router/Modem combination here?

It is not a laptop, a desktop and it is a wired modem

As for the access, as I said, I switch on the modem before I switch on the CPU
In this way, I get normal access

Ok do yourself a favour and leave the modem connected to the mains at all times rather than switch it off at the socket.

Shut down the PC in the normal manner when you have finished a session and you will find that when you start a new session, (ie boot up) the Net connection will be available once the Desktop has loaded.

Oh yeah...That can be done
But there is the problem of this modem heating up
Anyway, it should work properly, right?
But I can't trace the problem

A modem will become warm especially in a non ventilated area.

You still have not answered my question as to how you are, or seem to be, accessing the Net before your computer is active?

I don't know what answer you want me to give Anirudh.

Where is the problem because I do not see one?

Oh god
The problem, I am putting in new terms is that I cant access the internet when I turn on my modem
Whereas, I can access it when the modem is turned on before I turn on the CPU
Why is that?
Say I am playing FIFA for sometime and suddenly I want to check a mail, I turn on the modem and wait and it never connects.
Can you get it now?

This is why I am telling you to leave the modem on at all times.

If you keep switching it off and then switching on AFTER you have started your PC then the modem needs time to initialise and this is why you are not getting immediate connectivity.

I hope that is clearer.

Yeah this is clear

But it should connect after it stabilizes, right?

Say 2 minutes. Still it does not

Ok here's the deal.

Follow what I say and leave the modem ON at all times and come back to Geeks To Go tomorrow and tell us if you have had any issues.

How's that?

I don't have to come back tomorrow to say 'Yes it worked' because, I have been using it that way for the past 2 days.
