hello guys, My name is ryan and I am hoping that you guys can help me build a budget gaming pc, my budget is around 600-800, I can try to stretch it to 850 if possible
Approximate Purchase Date: after you all, the experts suggest me a good build

Budget Range:600-800 can try to stretch to 850 if its too tight

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, I guess everyday task like facebook twitter youtube and stuff

Parts Not Required:Keyboard, Mouse, Headphones, Os, I got this graphic card I purchased quite long ago, wondering if its still suitable to use if i plan on using it to game o.o
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
Chip type: GeForce 9400 GT
DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC
Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0641&SUBSYS_236E1682&REV_A1
Display Memory: 1741 MB
Dedicated Memory: 1009 MB
Shared Memory: 731 MB

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: I really have no idea I seldom purchase stuff online, any is fine as long as I get the parts I purchased, hopefully the shipping fees wont be too expensive, I live in Singapore the lion city by the way, roar LOL

Country: Singapore!!!

Parts Preferences: I believe since you guys are the experts helping me, you guys should have the rights to make your own choice on which parts to use, since I am asking you guys for assistance, I dont want to limit you guys, any parts which you feel is a great addition to my gaming pc family would be perfect. (as long as its within budget LOLOLOL)

SLI or Crossfire: SORRY i really have no clue what is that, such sophisticated words LOL

Monitor Resolution: any will do, not too small though, just good quality gaming experience will do, dont have to be the best

Additional Comments: apart from all the things i listed at the parts not required section, I need everything, up till now i still do not know what a power supply is, i feel so ashamed, hope you guys can help me

These are the stuff inside my current pc, is there anything I can reuse to cut cost?

:( sorry if my details are not clear enough, I believe it's a custom build pc, there's this box stating designmatters Asus p7h55-mlx, sorry I am not really sure but I believe it should be a custom build pc. My budget is in sgd.

Additional comments: I don't need a really high end one, my definition of gaming is sort of like being able to play maybe starcraft hots without lag and being able to alt tab without your computer hanging there for like 5 minutes :(

A build for you to consider that will give you a top performer for applications and good for playing games. I have not included a monitor for the moment. Done the best I can with sites in your region but you will have to do some more research for prices yourself, I am sure you will be able to get he cost down. Does not include shipping or taxes.

Next 2 item, do not order through site,. You mus telephone, confirm prices.

Stick with the suggestions made by iammyky RyanTzb, I am not quite sure if xxmaxixx read the entire topic from your OP onwards, the information was well intended BTW.

xxmaxixx

You may wish to compare prices elsewhere before purchasing from your suggested merchant as they are expensive, another comparison;

Your Welcome.
No, (but the CPU must be powerful enough in the first place, to run the system.) Over-clocking the CPU, (Processor) for gaming, would only make a tiny bit of difference.
Performance for gaming depends mostly on the GPU, (video card) and what settings you use. For any GPU, the larger the display, the higher the resolution and having the highest in game setting, the poorer the gaming will be.

Some info we like to make you aware of. Even though there is heaps of marketing about over-clocking for CPU/GPUs.
"(AMD's product warranty does not cover damage caused by overclocking.") source,
>http://www.newegg.co...N82E16819106001 This is the same from both Intel and AMD.

hahaha i am a total newbie to this stuff and I am afraid I spoil my parts before I even use them

Don't worry, you will be fine, we will give you a how to build guide + any other instructions needed.

Please do not rush into buying parts, see if you can get better prices than the ones I gave from reputable dealers.. Everything listed is compatible, so important you do not change parts without letting us know.

I do not know if Sim Lim Square has got better, but when I went there 04, saw many shops that were rip of merchants, so if you make a personal visit, take care.
This site ma be useful, and you could look at thair Forums. > http://vr-zone.com/p...atch/pricelists

Done some searches on the list of dealers in Lim Sin Squire. Do not use the following.
PC Themes Technology Pte Ltd
Video-Pro.com Pte Ltd

When personal shopping, the general conclusion seems to be, "shop 4th floor and up", "dress smart", "be old" that might be a bit hard to comply with.
