I need some help with my home network. Everything was working great but now it seems my wireless devices cannot detect my wired devices and vise versa.
Here’s my setup:
My ISP is TimeWarner Cable. I have a Cisco 2100 cable modem hooked up to an AirPort Express Base Station (AE1) and another AirPort Express Base Station (AE2) hooked up wirelessly about 30 feet towards the back of the house. I have a Belkin N600 wireless dual band N router hooked up to AE1. The wireless function is turned off. I’m using the router to connect a PC, X-Box 360 and a D Link 5-port Gigabit Desktop Switch, which subsequently connects 2 X-Box 360s, a PS3 and a HD DVR DirecTV receiver via Ethernet cables (I have played online multiplayer with all three X-Boxes simultaneously with no problems and zero lag). I have multiple wifi devices hooked up to either AE1 or AE2 (most on AE2), including a PC (with all my moives/tv shows I would like to stream throughout my network, both wired and wireless), 3 MacBooks (2 Pros), 2 Kindle Fires, a Samsung smart TV, a Samsung Galaxy Tab, a windows laptop, 2 Roku players, and smart phones.
I can use all the devices to go onto the Internet. I can stream from my wireless PC to all wireless devices, including the Roku players, my MacBook Pro, and even my Galaxy S3. I can also stream to my wifi enabled X-Box when I unplug the Ethernet cable. The problem is that none of my X-Boxes can detect my wireless PC with all the files I want to share. The wired connection has a default name and the wireless connection has my personal name. They seem to be two completely different networks. As originally stated, I set this all up and it worked flawlessly for about six weeks and now, without manually changing anything, the two devices cannot detect each other. Any help is greatly appreciated.
