FireFox and Chrome opens IE always [Solved]

Hi,

I did everything on the list. Only prgs I could not remove was the Search Settings v1.2.3 and Yontoo Layers Runtime 1.10.01.

The logs are below.

The only stuff I cannot run as I see is a Sonos Software (for a stereo equipment) that encounters a problem on start-up and needs to close:
AppName: sonos.exe AppVer: 6.0.0.34230 ModName: pcdcr.dll
ModVer: 19.3.0.53220 Offset: 00001e30

And the GoPro Cineform Studio. It gets the same error.

Running movies with VLC media players gets all in a stuck state but maybe I need to upgrade that. I will try.

Other than that it looks look good.

The only stuff I cannot run as I see is a Sonos Software (for a stereo equipment) that encounters a problem on start-up and needs to close:
AppName: sonos.exe AppVer: 6.0.0.34230 ModName: pcdcr.dll
ModVer: 19.3.0.53220 Offset: 00001e30

And the GoPro Cineform Studio. It gets the same error.

Running movies with VLC media players gets all in a stuck state but maybe I need to upgrade that. I will try.


Try uninstalling these and then reinstall them to see if they correct themselves

I tried to run VLC and everything froze so I restarted. Now the Google Chrome redirects to IE again! :(

Any clue?

Will try to reinstall them.

No, removing Sonos with Revo and reinstalling results in the same error.

Hello Space1969

We need to reset Chrome back to defaults to completely clear out what is going on.

We can keep the bookmarks by exporting them - Export Bookmarks


Then I need you to go Google Sync and sign into your account

scroll down untill you see the "Stop and Clear" button and click on button

At the prompt click on "Ok"

Now we need to uninstall chrome

I want you to uninstall Chrome and if asked about user data or settings then remove this also

restart the computer and reinstall chrome, You can download The latest version from here - Google Chrome

After you have Chrome reinstalled please check things out and let me know how it is doing.

One question: since I cannot open Chrome I cannot export the bookmarks?

I did remove Chrome but when I restarted it opens up with screen black as when it was in the end phase of the combo tests. And it just stays there. I will try to open in safe mode now and see what happens.

Any clues?

It starts now in normal mode. But slow. I started in safe mode and did a clean with ccleaner just to be sure. Will install chrome again and see if it works.

Scan with exeHelper:

Please download exeHelper to your desktop.

  • Double-click on exeHelper.com to run the fix.
  • A black window should pop up, press any key to close once the fix is completed.
  • Post the contents of exehelperlog.txt (Will be created in the directory where you ran exeHelper.com, and should open at the end of the scan)

Note: If the window shows a message that says "Error deleting file", please re-run the program before posting a log - and post the two logs together (they will both be in the one file).
