Browsers connect initially but then stop working

Running Win7 and can connect to a browser (Chrome, IE9 or Firefox) but after a few minutes they stop working entirely.

The connection is still there as can download and upload files.

Have run MBAM but nothing returned so don't know if this is malware or a problem with the DNS or something similar.
