Hi. I got a replacement mouse - a wireless Bornd C190. After updating my BIOS for my Dell Vista64 SP2 (which seemed to be the issue) the drivers were recognized. Problem is that there is no operable mouse pointer when I try using it, and there's no light on the mouse indicating it's on. I of course have my old mouse which works. I do want to try to unplug Logitech's micro receiver but I can't locate it! (I didnt set this computer up but Im still surprised I can't find it) Could the new mouse just be faulty or is my old Logitech the problem?

All wireless mice have receivers fitted via USB so it shouldn't be too hard to find.

When you do, replace that with the one you got with the new mouse and you're good to go.

Ah, I found that the Logitech mouse and keyboard are connected by a small black receiver that has a double cord (not sure of exact term..) that's plugged into the back of my pc. Although..only one part is plugged in..the one with the picture of the mouse on it is unplugged so Im wondering how the mouse has been working. Not sure if that matters...

Another note about the Bornd mouse..even thought the computer says it installs the drivers..it doesnt show up in the Device Manager.

It may be coloured Purple also.

The Bornd mouse is the correct design.


For the Logitech, the receiver looks like that but the mouse and keyboard are:



Lx5 optical mouse and S 510 keyboard that comes with SetPoint CD

Ok according to Amazon the logitech setup uses a mini usb receiver similar to the one I showed in the Bornd mouse image.

If you want to run the Bornd mouse alongside the Logitech keyboard then you will have to insert the mini usb for the Bornd mouse also.

Have you made sure that fresh batteries are installed in both the mouse and the keyboard and are switched on?

Yes, the batteries have very recently been replaced.
The problem is that I have plugged the Bornd receiver and while the drivers will load it doesnt show up in the Device Manager and the mouse pointer doesnt operate even when I've turned off the Logitech mouse to give it control.

I would uninstall the mouse drivers for the Bornd but keep the mini usb connector in and reboot.

Tell us if that works then.

How do I uninstall the drivers?

EDIT: Okay, the Bornd mouse shows as "HID-mouse complaint"(although it honestly looks like it's meant for some Microsoft mouse if one existed). I did as you said and still no luck.

HID is just an acronym for Human Interface Device.

Remove the Bornd USB receiver completely.

Go into Device Manager, choose Mice and other pointing devices in the list and then right click on it and a box will open, click Uninstall.

Shut down.

Plug in the Bornd USB receiver and reboot.

Wait a few moments for the "Windows has found new hardware" message.

Try that and get back to us.

If I unplug the receiver, the the driver name disappears from the Device Manager..so I'm not sure how to uninstall without it being plugged in.

What I am trying to say that in theory you still have the Logitech keyboard and mouse usable because you have the wireless Logitech USB connected.

This then should bring up both in Device Manager.

I am asking you to uninstall the Logitech mouse aspect ONLY in Device Manager.

Shut down and attach the Bornd USB and boot up which should then find the Bornd mouse after a moment or two.

Anyway, I did that and the Bornd still isnt able to operate the pointer.
