Dear Geeks to Go, I am running windows xp on an Optiplex GX280 machine. A few months ago it crashed and I thought it was over. Well, a young man at my church agreed to look at it to see if it could be restored. He did restore it, but it came back to me with so many unrecognizable programs & junk on it. All I needed was restoration! LOL! I need to know how to quickly remove this junk and maintain the bare necessities for running this computer. I've added Avast to help w/virus protection, deleted all of my games, Realplayer, some stuff I KNOW that he put on here, my pictures, videos, and even my music that I had on Realplayer (at least I think I removed it). Futhermore, it looks as though many files are the same when I right click on start and open explor. Some files are just numbers with no name even. What in God's name did he do? I do not have the patience of Job and this is so frustrating. My God...I am such a computer DUMMY, but I can follow your directions. Please help if possible. Thanks Ms. V.
