No luck the second attempt to run rogue killer. Non of the files that you mentioned are on the desk top. There is a folder now that is called Rk_Quarantine it has the EULA.txt file and a debug.log nothing that you had previously mentioned. Do you have any ideas as to what I should do or try next? OK lets run some tests .. The windows all in one tool may take up to 30 minutes to run as it will be doing a lot of repairing

First :

Open and elevated command prompt :

Go Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right click Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
Type in the following command and press enter :

sfc /scannow

Once it has completed reboot

Second :

Download Windows Repair (all in one) from this site

Install the programme then run



Go to step 3 and allow it to run SFC



On the start repairs tab click start


Select the following items and tick restart system when finished

Arrrrrrgh! Tried to run the sfc /scannow and get message "windows resource protection could not start the repair service". Patiently pulling the remainder of my hair out.

OK go direct to windows repair, that will reset and repair some services

Please dont close this post I have run into some issues getting the computer to boot since running the repair program and work has kept me from addressing them. I will be posting soon. thank you
