Hello.

This link shows a pic of the small hard drive I salvaged from my completely wrecked HP Laptop

What I'd like to know is how I can access the data stored on it with my standard tower PC so I can copy it all over and just dump the old HD.

Can it be done, what do I need exactly and how do I give the HD power to make it work once it's out of the Laptop.

Oh that seems simple enough. I'm sure they'll have something like that at Dick Smith, maybe Jacar.

But it seems that adapter plugs into less than half the pins on the drive, is that normal? There are 47 pins total.

Many thanks anyway Just hope the HD itself isn't screwed, Lappy got run over by a truck but not the half where the HD was installed.

Yeah that's just an old IDE drive mate and that gear in my link will accommodate them.
