I believe I picked up a virus. I can't seem to get rid of the Party Poker Icon on my desktop and I have non-stop Pop-ups while online. Also, often when online the scrollbar moves by itself as does the spacebar (as if a ghost were typing). I have to then restart my PC because the IE icon is blinking on and off. I have Norton, Spybot, and CCleaner and have run them all. Nothing works. I ran the HijackThis and am hoping someone will be able to identify what I should delete from the list? I would truly appreciate any assistance I can get. ;)

Please Note: I totally computer illiterate. :tazz:

Thanks,
raine

Here is the log I got from HijackThis:

Welcome to GTG.

Please do not post duplicates here. I will close your other topic now.

Did you also run Ad-aware? If not, run it now.

Before you do anything else, please create a folder for HijackThis and put it in a permanent folder (like C:\HJT) instead of the Temp folder. This is required because HijackThis will create backups and we don't want them to be deleted.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' (or 'Show all files') is enabled. Also make sure that 'Display the contents of system folders' is checked. If you have Windows XP, the search feature is a little different. When you click on 'All files and folders' on the left pane, click on the 'More advanced options' at the bottom. Make sure that 'Search system folders', 'Search hidden files and folders', and 'Search subfolders' are checked.

For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep).

If you have a fast internet connection (broadband), run an online virus scan at TrendMicro http://uk.trendmicro...call_launch.php. Just follow the instructions on the site to run the online scan. If any viruses/trojans are detected, try to delete or clean them in that site. You may use Panda ActiveScan also at http://www.pandasoft...ucts/activescan. Otherwise, make sure your antivirus program has the latest definitions and run a full system scan.

Right click on this link http://www.greyknigh...lO15Domains.inf and choose Save As. Save it to your desktop. Right click on that file and choose Install. It will run immediately (you won't be able to see anything happen). You may delete it afterwards.

Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up (and choose Safe Mode from the list). In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work. Make sure to close any open browsers. Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

O2 - BHO: WinStat - {F007E221-018D-4baf-924A-B0E9092F3853} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\WinStat11.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [lqlxtfx] C:\WINDOWS\System32\lqlxtfx.exe
O9 - Extra button: Related - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Show &Related Links - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm
O15 - Trusted Zone: http://www.neededware.com
O16 - DPF: NDWCab - http://www.neededware.com/ndw2.cab

Delete the following Files/Folders (delete folders if no filename is specified) according to their directory (if none, just do a search for them) and delete them if they exist:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\WinStat11.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\lqlxtfx.exe

Restart and run a new HijackThis scan. Save the log file and post it here.

Thank you Greyknight17!

I ran Ad-aware and all I found was one cookie from GTG (I deleted it :tazz: )

Under TrendMicro my results were as follows:
Hackercheck: secure
Virus Check: 2 found (Troj_Lasta.a and Troj_Deif.pi) I tried to remove them but the program would not let me without a "ticket" (I tried to get a ticket and the remove without a ticket option...neither worked)

I followed the rest of the instructions and my new HiJackThis Log is as follows:

OK, for those two infections found by TrendMicro, what files were infected? We will delete them.

Please run this online virus scan:
ActiveScan

Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here

Thank you.

Here are the locations:
Troj_Lastad.a C:/WindowsSISystem32/jakkjo.exe
Troj_Deif.fl C:/Command.exe

I did a search and tried to remove these two files but was not able to.

Question?...How did I get all these Trojans and Malware when I have so much protection? (I have Norton, Spybot, and a Firewall)

Here is the Panda Scan Log:

We'll remove those now.

To answer your question, these things just slip by sometimes. Even when everything is up to date. If you are careful on what you install or what site you visit, you shouldn't run into these problems at all. Not saying it's anyone's fault (but those scums who create this), but just be more careful and update your programs - and you should be much safer.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to Start->Run and type in regedit and hit OK. Go to File->Export and save the registry somewhere as a backup. While in the Registry Editor, navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer\Run and delete lqlxtfx

If any of the above registry keys are giving you problems deleting, right click on them and click on Permissions. Then click on the Advanced button. Make sure the first box (Inherit from parent...) is checked. Click OK and OK. Then try deleting the entry again. Once you're done, close the Registry Editor.

Download KillBox http://www.greyknigh...spy/KillBox.exe. Run KillBox and check the box that says 'End Explorer Shell While Killing File'. Next click on 'Delete on Reboot'. For each of the following files below, check the box that says 'Unregister .dll Before Deleting' if it's not grayed out. Copy the below files and go back to KillBox. Go to File->Paste from Clipboard and then hit the button with red circle with a white X. Confirm to delete and when asked if you want to reboot now, say no:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\lqlxtfx.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\jakkjo.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\jakkjondw30103lib.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\lqlxtfxndw30104lib.dll
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\SSK3_B5 Verticlick 8.exe
C:\Command.exe

Restart and post a new HijackThis log.

OK, give me this log also:

Right click on http://www.silentrun...ent Runners.vbs and choose Save As...Save it to your Desktop. Make sure you have disabled any programs that may block/disable scripts (ex: Ad-Watch, TeaTimer, Norton, etc.). Double click on 'Silent Runners' to run it. This will take a few minutes. It will create a file called 'Startup Programs' followed by your computer name and current date. Open up that file and post all the contents here in your next post.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and delete lqlxtfx

Copy and paste each of the following into KillBox (hitting the X button for each file - choose NO when it asks if you want to reboot):

C:\WINDOWS\System32\lqlxtfx.exe

Restart and post a new HijackThis log.

Almost there...

Right click on this link http://www.greyknigh...lO15Domains.inf and choose Save As. Save it to your desktop. Right click on that file and choose Install. It will run immediately (you won't be able to see anything happen). You may delete it afterwards.

Check and fix this in HijackThis (if it's still there):

Perfect :tazz:

Your log is clean.

Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. Restart your computer and uncheck the same box to enable System Restore.

Make sure to get the latest updates for Windows and Internet Explorer at http://v5.windowsupd...t.aspx?ln=en-us.

To help prevent future spyware installations/infections, please read the Anti-Spyware Tutorial and use the tools provided.

Are there any problems now? If not, you should be set to go.
