How old is the drive?
Are you able to back-up the data somewhere else and Format that drive? This may be your best option.

O.K remove the data from that drive and format, that may solve the issues you've been having. It is possible that the drive is failing, if it's behaving unusually. The question you have to ask yourself is how important is the Data you store on it and how much do you trust that drive to keep it safe?
How is the PC running now any redirect problems?

Good news on your PC, I am a happy man. I need to clean the tools we used. Let me know when complete as I have one more post sitting ready for you.
Dustpan and Brush
1. Uninstall ADWcleaner
- Open ADWcleaner and select uninstall.
2. Delete JRT icon
- Right click the Junkware Removal Tool Icon and select Delete
- Click Start then Computer and double-click Local Disk (C:) and delete the JRT Folder
3. Delete Shortcut Cleaner
- Right click the Shortcut Cleaner Icon and select Delete
4. OTL
Copy the entire text in the Quote box below, do not include the word QUOTE and Paste into the Custom Scans/Fixes box in OTL.
:COMMANDS
[CREATERESTOREPOINT]
- Then click Run Fix
- When complete a log file will tell you if sucessfull. I do not need to see this.
- Now click the CleanUp button on OTL. This will delete the log files, and OTL itself.

Well Briz, it's been a long road with many
Thank you for sticking with me through this, your patience is really appreciated and you have helped me a lot also.
I have a couple of things for you to read and carry out to ensure your safety in future and some pointers for you at the end.
1. ENSURE AUTOMATIC UPDATES ARE ENABLED
All security updates released by Microsoft must be Automatically Installed.
- Click Start and in the search box type windows update and press ENTER.
- Click Change Settings and make sure the Install updates automatically (recommended) option is selected, if not select it and click O.K to save settings.
2. As You Use Java
- Java is one of the most exploited software at this time and the majority of home users can do without it.
- The Safest way to use Java is to disable Java in your web browser. (see link below) and if a trusted program or webpage asks for Java then enable it.
- You can also use 2 browsers, one Java enabled the other Java disabled.
- Disable Java from the browser you use the most i.e Internet Explorer. Enable Java in another browser i.e Chrome.
- If prompted to use Java in IE, switch to Chrome to run the program or webpage.
- This ensures one secure browser for everyday use and one with Java.
It is also worth noting that Java and Javascript are not related, see here: Java is not Javascript
3. Avoid the following
- Torrent downloaders, Torrent files and Torrent sites. - Otherwise known as P2P. The files are mainly illegal, contain malware and\or adult material. Steer clear of P2P programs and files..
- Registry Cleaners - They can clean a little too much and remove needed entries. The best thing to do with the registry is leave it be.
- PC Performance Boosters. - Programs that promise to speed up your PC. These are useless and\or come packed with Toolbars and other uneeded software that runs in the background causing, you guessed it Performance Issues!
- Not Checking Install Screens - Dont just click next, next, next and Install Some of the screens may contain Browsers or Toolbars. Check each screen before clicking next.
4. FONT ADDICTION
I found these for you. I hope they help. Fontsquirrel had a lot of good reviews and is recommended on font upload sites.
Google Fonts
Font Squirrel
The main thing is to Keep On Top Of Your Updates and run Weekly Scans with Malwarebytes and MSE. I also supplied you with an Updates tool, so use it
Select the following link and add it to your Favourites or Bookmark for future use. The answers to the majority of PC problems.
I will keep this post open for 24 hours if you need assistance. If after that you need help then please start a new Topic in the appropriate forum.
P.S I hope I informed you well regarding installers so you Won't get fooled again

well, it is bitter sweet to arrive at the end of our journey - i've enjoyed and appreciated your virtual friendship, support and company - trading a few stories - and your patience as i boldly ignored warnings of installs and downloads during this process. boldly? nay; foolishly!
if you ever find your self in the san francisco bay area - please feel free to look me and mi familia up. we'll always have space to give for food and shelter.
and, should i get fooled again, i can honestly say it will be nobody's fault but mine!
truly - thank you for your patience and help through all this...
all the best!
greg
