I got this call at home a couple of weeks ago about 8:45 offering to "fix" my computer and started giving me instructions including looking at Event Viewer and pointing out the errors and telling me this indicated that I had a virus on my computer. Then they asked me to put in a web address so they could "fix it". At that point I told them "I think I heard about this scam." He said something - sounded angry - and then hung up.

Here is the link to more information about this scam. The call originates from Alberta Canada:

800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-780-409-4786

While I did not go to any website suggested I noticed an entry that says Microsoft-Windows-Forwarding/Operational and I am not sure what it is for. Is this any indication of someone being able to remote in?

I also have Windows Management Framework Core installed. Can I remove it?
