Well from what I have read with regard to Windows 8 putting an email address in at login was entirely optional when setting up the machine but at the end of the day you should be able to remove one or both forms of login authentication (email and password) and still be ok.

I still maintain that you must have created a Standard User account at some point and then deleted it but this would have had no bearing on the main Admin account.

I am at a loss as to what to tell you mate and unless a dedicated Windows 8 user who knows what may have happened contributes to this thread then I am out of ideas.
