I need someone to help me create a fixlist.txt from the FRST log... My laptop has been down for days and i need it back up and running for the upcoming university examinations .

Hi it appears that you have tried to manually delete Avast is that correct

Download the attached fixlist.txt to the same USB as FRST

Restart FRST as before and press fix
Once completed see if you can reboot to normal windows

Hi Essex,

Thanks for the fixlist. It fixed/deleted all the files on the fixlist but I am still getting the same startup repair loop .

I ran the fixlist two times just in case so the fixlog appears to say "not found". Whereas the first fixlog (which had been overwritten) said "fixed" or "deleted".

It appears to have fixed the list you gave me but it is still not booting up.. What next?

Could you run another FRST scan for me please, also what were the symptoms just prior to the computer going unbootable

Hi

My problem is that it wont boot because of an automatic startup repair loop. I cannot run safemode or system restore or anything. It scans to repair, it fails and the only option I have left is to restart (which eventually goes back to the repair loop after restarting) or shut down.

I ran the scan again - attached is the FRST.txt

Sorry I meant what occurred before the boot problem ?

Go to the recovery console and select command prompt
Then type in the following command :

sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c:\ /offwindir=c:\windows

Once it has completed then retry a normal boot

Before the boot problem, apparently my brother's gf was streaming series online.

I tried running that on command prompt... It says 'Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.'

But then it says 'Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation'...

Unfortunately the log does not show what is wrong with the boot sequence, and as it stands alas I am unable to make any suggestions

I would recommend that you back up any data and reinstall the system... If you need help backing up I can assist

Download Peazip to the desktop
Run and install the programme
As it installs this page will show, deselect the AVG ticks
Press decline and it will then install cleanly



Download the following files to the desktop .. Right click the links and select save as...then select desktop

Rufus

OTLPE_standard

Right click OTLPE on your desktop and select ..Open as archive




Select OTLPE standard



Click Extract, ensure that desktop is selected



Insert the USB stick Then run Rufus

Select the ISO file on the desktop via the ISO icon.

Press Start Burn


Once the USB has burnt then

• Reboot your system using the boot USB you just created.
  Note : If you do not know how to set your computer to boot from USB follow the steps here
• As the Programme needs to detect your hardware and load the operating system, I would recommend a nice cup of tea whilst it loads
• Your system should now display a Reatogo desktop.
• Use the explorer to backup any required data to a USB or CD
