[NCC-1701]

Okay, so I recently installed Icewind Dale II. I've had it for a while, I just never actually installed it until now. It kept crashing at the usually places (party creation and inventory), but I got patch 2.01 (or something like that). Everything seemed fine, until a few days ago. I had completed all of Chapter 1, but when I went to talk to Oswald (and his sh*t air balloon) so I could start Chapter 2. Unfortunately, as soon I as I click on Oswald, the game freezes completely and I can only escape it by going to the start menu and restarting (on Windows 8). It always freezes at the same point. I cannot proceed any farther into the game, and I am pissed. I did my research, but I can't find any other records of this problem. I was hoping someone here could help me. I've asked for help on other website forums, but have yet to receive any. I'm not computer illiterate, but I am not the best with them. I can install mods, or do some coding (with help), but not anything that complicated. I don't know all the specifics about my computer either. I hope I can get some help here! Thanks.
