Thanks Phillpower2 & Leurgy for taking the time to help.

I asked about orientation of the CPU fan as some can be reversed and if that what so in tthis case, wanted to check. As observed, fan is OK as is designed that way.

It appears that the sensors on the AMD A series are "rat ****", HWMonitor only supports up to the FX series, SppedFan tends to read the core as Temp3 and not very good.What appears to be the most accurate is AIDA64 Extreme Edition. You could try the Trial version, > http://www.aida64.com/downloads to stress the system to see how stable it is.

You do have Gigabyte EasyTune6 software installed, you could investigate it to see what temps/volts/fans it shows. Not used it so don't know anything about it's over-clocking features.

See what sort of results you get before buying a different cooler.

i will be ordering some DDR3 1866 soon but whats best to do with the other, can i use it as well in slots 3 and 4 or does it all have to be the same speed?

RAM must be of the same speed, when mixed, all will run at the lowest RAM speed. Use this tool to find the correct RAM for your build. NB. You do not have to buy from Crucial, other brands are OK so long as they have the same specs. I always use low profile sticks helping to prevent issues when installing after market cooler.

Edit.

The following gives a convincing reason for a fans to blow down, when top mounted.

Temps and voltages as has been pointed out are fine.

Have a look at the cooling fan to see if it has an arrow on the side which shows the direction that the air is drawn http://www.computerh...es/ch001151.htm

Regarding using an aftermarket cooler be aware that if you were to use anything other than the HS and cooling fan that was supplied with the CPU you will void the warranty;

AMD;
This Limited Warranty shall be null and void if the AMD microprocessor which is the subject of this Limited Warranty is used with any heatsink/fan other than the one provided herewith.
