So, it did boot with low screen resolution and when you switched it back the screen went black. Right?

Sounds like the video driver is the issue.

In your absence I can look around for the correct driver and have it posted if you like. As a matter of fact, I can research that now, present my finding to my instructor and have it posted by tomorrow. If you have to leave before that I get it posted, it will be waiting for you when you get back.

Have a safe trip! And thanks for letting me know. :)

Hi woodduckhunter,

Please download SlimDrivers - Free
  • Click Save File and save to your desktop.
  • Double click Posted Image and click I Agree button.

Note: For Vista and above, Right click and choose Run as administrator.
Choose Custom Installation and uncheck the boxes to the left of the AVG Toolbar and AVG Secure Search to prevent them from being installed as shown below:

    Posted Image
  • Click Accept & Install >> button.
  • Once install is complete, click Finish to launch the program.
  • Click the Start Scan button in the lower right of screen.
  • Once scan is complete, locate the Display Adapters section.
  • Click Download Update to the far right.
  • You'll be asked to create a System Restore point, click Yes and the download will continue.

You can update the other drivers that need attention at a later time. Our main concern is getting this system stable.

Donna :)
