As it is about 6 years old then it would definitely benefit from a fresh install of windows, I used to do my old XP system annually as it does tend to break down over time

You may be able to find a cheap XP disc on e-bay or at a local computer shop. There is also the possibility that the computer manufacturer may have some restore discs available for a nominal fee
