Java did download completely after doing the instructions but I still got the browser launch error 87 after it was complete. When I try to open minecraft it gives an error saying java could not create the java virtual machine and that a fatal exception has occurred. I know java works because on their page the java uninstall tool shows up unlike in the past.

Another thing that I would like you to do is the following............

  • Hit the start Orb.
  • Right Click My Computer.
  • Select Properties.
  • Advanced System Settings.
  • Enviroment Variables
  • Under System Variables.
  • Select New.
Copy and paste the items after the >>> into their respective area's.

Variable Name >>>>>>>>>> _JAVA_OPTIONS

Variable Value >>>>>>>>>>> -Xmx512M

Then O.K. your way out of there reboot the machine and test your Minecraft Game.

I have been following the topic.
