Hi all,

Need a spot of help myself. Security Center service will not start on an old Server 2003 box. Error 126: The specified module could not be found. After a bit of digging, the registry is pointing to %systemroot%\system32\wscsvc.dll however the file does not exist in this location. Any way I can restore a copy of the file to there from, say, another Server 2003 box or the install CD? I have access to both.

Thanks,

Troy

Hi Troy,

That is strange I have several Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 and they don't have a Windows Security Center Service nor that file!

Nope, all clean.

If I'm not wrong the Windows Security Center only exists on client versions of Windows.

This guy reinstalled his AV to fix:

http://social.techne...control-manager

Is it possible the antivirus installation messes with this key in the registry even though it doesn't exist in 2003?
