Merging comments from multiple documents

I have a lot of word 2010 documents with comments that need to be merged into one document. When I use the combine feature in word, comments that have been applied to tables do not merge over. Is this a glitch in Word or is there a fix for this? Currently, I have to go back and manually copy over comments in tables. Any ideas?
