I have a network environment that uses a master computer to pull billing files from. It is peer - peer network. If the client computers are booted before the master or the master is turned off first, the clients loose all of there shortcuts to the mapped drives.

All computers are running windows 7, and icons "shortcuts" are set to run as admin. I figure the problem is windows thinks it is a bad link and removes it on its own in attempt to clean up the shortcuts. I have been through all of the settings looking for an option to not "check" the shortcut.

Has anyone seen this problem or have any advice on how to keep windows from removing the program shortcuts on boot of computer?

Hi,

Can you tell us where the shortcuts are located in terms of file path?

Do you have a domain or the computers are in a Workgroup?
