"PDF Shell Extension" led me to Adobe Community sites, where I've found many interesting things about Adobe ActiveX plugin. I'm also surprised that there weren't many things in autoruns report, but it's possibilities ale limited. Better tools are restricted to Malware Removal helpers.

I'll try to find some registry entries where these plugins are located, but it will take me some time (frankly speaking I'm trying to work between posts ).

Let's search in the registry. We need to access it by regedit.exe. I advice extreme precaution and not to modify anything in there. It may cause your system unstable or even unbootable.

Push both Windows key & R button -> type in: regedit.exe and press enter.

Search for keys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MenuExt
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Extensions

For each key go to File -> export -> save as filetype: *.txt
Attach them to your post

I try to run with as little as possible for addons, the only ones I have that I allowed are the shockwave, WOT, and the adobe pdf reader, though I could just run it as needed.

there are a lot of plug ins with an API type file in the plugins folder of Adobe reader, in my program files, but to my knowledge I am not using any of them.

But tomorrow I am going to uninstall Adobe and see how I get along with the new Foxit. Right now I am going to hit the sack as it is 3:41 am here in Florida.

Hello

In the extensions file I've found some CLSID, which directed me to msdn site, also some other addons. Thus there's nothing significant in there.

Open a PDF online please. Wait till the menu changes and please give me a screenshot with this new menu.

Sorry, missed it.

Searching within the exported regkeys was without any luck, as all the items there do not track to Adobe Acrobat. I've made today same experiment as Donna - results were also identical.
I was hoping that screenshot will give any clues but it was also fail.

I'm willing to resume that it's just a normal behaviour of IE with plugged Acrobat. If anything will come to me in this case - I will let you know
